A lot of backyards in Noblesville have the same issue - a plain wood fence, open turf running right up to it, and nothing to give the space any real definition. That was exactly what we were working with here. The client wanted something that would clean up the perimeter and give the yard a more intentional, finished feel.

We designed and installed a new landscape bed that runs along the fence line, planting a row of arborvitaes evenly spaced throughout. Arborvitaes are one of our go-to choices for this kind of situation. They grow upright and tight, they stay green year-round, and they add real structure to a yard without requiring a ton of maintenance down the road.

The bed itself is laid out with a clean, curved edge that follows the fence line naturally. Fresh dark mulch fills it out and ties everything together. A natural boulder nestled into the corner of the bed adds a nice grounding element - a small detail that keeps it from looking too uniform or flat.

What we ended up with is a yard that has actual bones to it now. The arborvitaes create a living backdrop along the entire fence, and the mulched bed separates the lawn from the fence line in a way that just looks intentional. That combination of clean lines and plant material is exactly what plant design and installation is meant to do - take a space that feels unfinished and give it a clear sense of structure.

This is the kind of work we do a lot of around Noblesville and the surrounding area. If your backyard feels like it's missing something but you're not sure what, a well-placed landscape bed and the right plant selection can make a huge difference.
