Some beds just need a reset. Overgrown edges, weeds creeping in, old mulch breaking down - it adds up fast and makes an otherwise nice yard look neglected. That's exactly what we were dealing with here for a client in Cicero, IN.

We came in and handled the full package: fresh mulch laid throughout the bed, weed control to get ahead of the season, and natural stone rock edging placed along the entire border. The stones give the bed a clean, defined line that holds its shape and separates the lawn from the planting area without looking forced or overdone.

The plant design side of this one was fun. Purple blooms - salvia running through the middle of the bed - add a solid pop of color against the dark mulch. It's the kind of contrast that makes a bed look intentional. We also laid weed barrier fabric under the new mulch in sections to help keep maintenance down going forward.

Weed barrier under the mulch, stone edging along the perimeter, and plants chosen for color and structure - every decision here was made to keep this bed looking good without creating more work for the homeowner down the road. That's the goal on every job we do.

Good bed maintenance isn't just about looks. It protects your plants, keeps weeds from taking over, and makes your whole yard feel pulled together. When the bones are right, everything else falls into place.
