Some properties just need a fresh start. The landscaping along this home's foundation had run its course - outdated, overgrown, or just plain flat. The homeowner wanted something cleaner and more intentional, so that's exactly what we put together.

We started with a custom design built around the structure itself. The goal was to layer plants thoughtfully - mixing textures, heights, and colors so the bed had real visual interest without feeling busy. Ornamental grasses, flowering shrubs, boxwoods, and perennials were all selected to work together as a cohesive unit rather than just a random mix of whatever was available.

Plant selection matters more than most people realize. Every species we put in the ground has a purpose - whether that's adding height near the foundation, filling mid-level space, or creating a low border along the edge. Getting that balance right is what separates a well-designed bed from one that just looks like a bunch of plants stuck in the dirt.

Installation day is where the design becomes real. Fresh soil prep, proper spacing, and careful placement ensure the plants have the best shot at establishing strong roots. A large natural boulder anchors one corner of the bed and adds a grounded, natural feel that ties the whole layout together. Fall is actually a solid time for planting - the cooler temps reduce stress on new plants and give roots time to settle in before winter.

This is the kind of work we genuinely enjoy doing. A well-planned landscape bed adds real curb appeal and gives a home a polished, finished look that makes a difference. If your foundation beds are due for an update, this is what that process looks like from start to finish.
