Lakefront properties have a lot going for them visually - but that also means the landscaping has to hold its own. When the backdrop is open water and sky, a messy or overgrown bed sticks out immediately. Keeping everything tight and intentional is the whole game.
This is a backyard we maintain regularly, and it's one of our favorites to work on. The garden bed wraps around a wooden torii-style gate and features a mix of rounded shrubs, small ornamental trees, and a natural stone step path cutting through the center. Every element has a purpose, and our job is to make sure it all stays looking sharp.
Fresh mulch is one of those things that pulls everything together. It frames the plants, suppresses weeds, and gives the whole bed a clean, finished look. Paired with precise trimming on the shrubs and clean turf edges where the bed meets the lawn, the difference is hard to miss.
This is exactly the kind of work our plant design and installation background makes us well-suited for. We're not just pushing a mower around - we understand how plants grow, how beds should be shaped, and how maintenance decisions affect the long-term health and appearance of a landscape. That knowledge shows up in the details on every visit.
Consistent care is what separates a yard that looks good in photos from one that looks good all season long. For a property like this, right on the water, the bar is high. We like it that way.
