This Cicero front yard had good bones - a nice home, mature trees, solid driveway. But the beds were flat, undefined, and lacked any real structure. No separation between the lawn and the house. Nothing to draw your eye in. That's exactly the kind of yard we love getting our hands on.

We started by reshaping the entire front bed area and laying down fresh dark mulch wall to wall. The contrast it creates against the lawn line is immediate. Clean, rich, and uniform. Then we built out the stone retaining walls - stacked natural-looking block that adds dimension and ties the whole bed together without looking overdone.

The arborvitae plantings were the finishing touch. We positioned them to frame the front of the home and give the yard a sense of height and structure. Right now they're young and tidy, but as they fill in over the next few seasons, they'll really anchor the space. Part of doing good plant design and installation is thinking about how things look not just today, but a few years down the road.

Sharp bed edging runs the full perimeter and keeps everything looking intentional. It's one of those details that most people don't notice until it's missing. When the edge is crisp, the whole yard looks more put-together - even if nothing else changed.

This is what a well-planned front yard install looks like when all the pieces come together. Structured beds, quality materials, and plants chosen to grow with the space. We're proud of how this one came out.
