Sometimes a bed just needs a reset. Old mulch breaks down, plants get overgrown or patchy, and what was once a sharp-looking border starts to blend into the background. That's exactly the kind of situation we love to fix.
Here's what we were working with - a long narrow bed running along the side of a brick building, ready for new life. We came in with fresh plants, worked them into position along the full length of the bed, and followed up with a layer of crisp black mulch. Black mulch is one of those details that really does the heavy lifting visually. It creates strong contrast against the greenery and makes everything look intentional and well-kept.
Plant selection matters a lot in a bed like this. You need plants that work with the space - not just fill it. We mixed in flowering shrubs and lower-growing perennials to give the bed some variation in height and texture. The goal is always a bed that looks good now and holds up over time without constant intervention.
The mulch layer does more than just look sharp. It holds moisture, suppresses weeds, and gives new plants a better shot at getting established. It's a detail that pays off both right away and down the road. That's the kind of work we're focused on - results that are practical and look great at the same time.
This is what our plant design and installation work looks like in practice. No overcomplicated process - just clean execution, good plant choices, and a finished bed you'll actually be proud of.
