There's a big difference between a backyard that's just functional and one that actually feels finished. Getting that finished look takes more than picking a few plants - it takes planning how every element works together. The hardscape, the plantings, the edging, the stone. It all has to connect.
Here's what we put together on this one. A pool surround framed with natural stone coping and river rock, retaining walls built from stacked stone block, and planting beds cut with crisp edges and packed with fresh dark mulch. A few young shrubs and groundcover plants are set in just right - spaced to grow in without crowding each other out.
The curved stone seat wall at the bottom ties it all together. It gives the space a boundary without feeling closed off. That's the kind of detail that takes a yard from looking like a bunch of separate pieces to feeling like one cohesive outdoor space.
We handle all of it - the outdoor living spaces, the hardscape, the planting design. When it's all done by one crew with one plan, the result just looks tighter. No awkward transitions, no mismatched materials, no wondering if things will line up.
This is the kind of work we do at Holmes Lawn and Landscape. Every element dialed in, every edge clean, every plant placed with purpose.
